Membership Form 2025 Workshop

About Us

The New Mexico Native American Indian Nurses Association was incorporated on June 24, 1986. Membership is opened specifically to Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses, students enrolled in Nursing Programs and interested Associate members.

Paid Membership

American Indian person who is a Registered Or Practical/Vocational Nurse.

Associate Membership

Persons who support the goals of the New Mexico Native American Indian Nurses Association, Inc.

Student Membership

Students of American Indian descent enrolled in a Nursing program and/or related health field.

Goals

  • Advocate for the health care needs of the American Indian People.
  • Act as a liaison within the nursing profession through the development of nursing education activities.
  • Inform the public about the health needs of American Indian People.
  • Recommend nursing care strategies to meet the health needs of American Indian People.
  • Support American Indian students pursuing health careers.

Objectives

  • Collaborate with health care agencies.
  • Sponsor workshops and/or seminars directly related to nursing care activities.
  • Dissemination of accurate information regarding the health status of American Indian People.
  • Recommend and offer technical assistance to the various government, and private agencies in developing programs designed to improve the total health of the American Indian People.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with students pursuing health related goals.
  • Provide scholarships for nursing students.

NMNAINA was honored by "Homes for Heroes" and received funding for the organizations' student success program.
